Happy Fourth of July to all my fellow Americans! I am so proud of the country I live in and to be able to celebrate 241 years of the great USA. As I scrolled through instagram this past week, I saw countless Americana outfits and started to realize that I never did a post for the Fourth. So, better late than never, here is my Independence Day ootd. Sadly I won’t get to wear this on the fourth because I am lifeguarding most of the day, but if I was watching fireworks this would be the choice!
This lovely ruffle blouse has been featured on the blog before, but since I am trying to cut down on spending for the month of July, I thought I could outfit repeat just a couple of times. I love the way the ruffles drape down the front, and the crisp white of the top reminds me of American summers.
I recently got these retro high-waisted jean shorts from Gap and I think they are perfect for the holiday. I love wearing retro pieces during the summer like these because the remind me of the 50s- a time period in which I have always admired the fashion!
And for shoes I wore my classic white converse because I wanted to round out the retro theme going on here. This look just screams All-American and summer!
