my typical summer outfit

I’m not the biggest fan of shorts. I’m 5’3, so sometimes I feel as if I look even shorter wearing shorts. I always gravitate towards pants and I would prefer wearing my pixie pants over chinos any day. However, I live in Tennessee, meaning that summers are 80-90 degrees and very humid. So, a girl’s got to go with what matches the weather, so shorts it is. I’ve grown to enjoy pairing chino shorts with lots of different summer favorites, such as airy blouses and statement jewelry. This outfit is a typical summer outfit for me because it is perfect for leaving the house to run errands but also great to walk around town and go have some fun. 

So, here is my perfect casual summer outfit- one that is easy to move in but also adorable. I paired my navy J.Crew (factory) chinos with an airy last-summer blouse from Gap. This style is so in right now so I will link a couple options below.

I also wanted to add a pop of color and fun with this pink gingham watch (how cute??) from a boutique in Cape Cod. If your outfit is mostly neutrals, add color in the jewelry, such as with tassel earrings or a colorful watch.

And finally for shoes- I wanted something that was equally comfortable as stylish. These Target sandals fit the bill. The sparkly band makes the outfit so much more girly and fun while the support of the straps help for long days of walking. Definitely a great addition to a casual summer outfit.
