Last weekend I ventured up to Asheville, North Carolina to get a much-needed break from school. Asheville was a good meeting point for both me and my mom, so we booked a hotel room and enjoyed a night away from school. I have recently been so overwhelmed socially, and I have not had a chance to just get a break. Basically, I needed my mom and I am so thankful that she is able to come visit me and stay with me when I need her to. A couple weeks ago was the first time I got homesick since being at college, so I am glad I took this little break to process some thoughts and just relax. Don’t worry though- I am loving college life (especially now in my sorority!) and it’s ok to just need a break from college life every once in a while. I highly recommend it!
Anyways, back to Asheville. My mom and I walked around Downtown quite a bit and browsed through various shops in the area. We enjoyed dinner and brunch at the Early Girl Eatery, a favorite of ours. We also ventured to the Grove Park Inn, which is an upscale resort in the heart of Asheville. I love walking around with no particular agenda at all, and that is exactly what we did. We had an early night in at the hotel, and The Hunger Games was on the TV! Fun fact- the first film was filmed in various parts of Asheville. A couple years ago I hiked to the spot where Katniss finds Peeta in the games after the gamemakers announce there will be two winners. I’ve also ventured to the District 12 village, which has the building where Peeta through the bread to Katniss. I’m a big fan if of the books (and movies) if you can’t tell!! I caught up on some sleep as well.
I finally had time to take some much needed blog pics, including this outfit that I have been loving recently. It’s definitely not much of a winter outfit, especially with the white pants and blush pink shoes, but I love it and think it’s a fun way to spice up your winter wardrobe! I posted this outfit the other day on Instagram and I received a lot of comments about my sweater, which is sadly from 2 winters ago. However, this style of sweater is still very popular and I am sure you can find a look a like on websites such as Shein, Forever 21, and H&M. I will link a similar style as well. The original is from Red Dress Boutique if you would like to check it out.
