It’s been quite a while since I’ve popped on here and updated y’all about my life, let alone post an outfit! Let’s just say life has been crazy since stepping foot on Furman’s campus last fall, and sometimes you need to step away from a little side passion project (aka the blog) while studying in the library, spending time with friends, and being a college student. As promised multiple times (and continually pushed back later and later), I am back on the blog for the summer and hoping to post 2-3 times weekly. I will be filling y’all in on my freshman year recap (crazy!!) this upcoming week so stay tuned for that. I’m hoping that this summer’s posts are filled with college advice, numerous fashion posts, and more. If you have any post requests, please send me some as I am always looking to answer any requests you have. Also, if you ever just want to chat about life (what college- or even high school- is like, figuring out where to attend, what Furman is like, etc.) please email me as I love to chat and get to know y’all!
So for my first summer 2018 post, I wanted to share with y’all a dress that I have had my eye on all spring. It is absolutely adorable and I am thrilled to have it in my possession, as it was constantly sold out throughout the springtime. Last month I went to Athens with some college friends and was able to find this dress in store at Red Dress Boutique (one of my all time favorite stores- seriously y’all if you haven’t heard of it stop what you’re doing and go shop on their website!). I was over the moon to find it. I sized up to a medium as the small was out of stock in store, so the off the shoulder band is a bit loose on me, but I actually prefer wearing the sleeve section up as I think it is more flattering on my shape (I’ve been a swimmer for as a long as I can remember so my shoulders are broad!)
When styling the dress, I wanted to keep things simple and sweet. The pink gingham gives off such a southern vibes (can’t you just taste sweet tea after seeing this dress??). I added some white tassels and my favorite espadrilles to keep the fun and airy.
A little backstory for the photoshoot. I met up with Katie from Chic In Carolina to take photos as we are about an hour apart from each other. She is a Clemson student, so we decided to meet up and take photos in Downtown Greenville towards the end of our semesters. We had such a fun time looking for the cutest spots in the area, and we stumbled upon this bookstore (that is actually owned by Furman!) with these steps that looked straight out of Gossip Girl. We enjoyed posing on the steps (even though we probably looked crazy to passerbys).
Ok so back to the dress (y’all know I get sidetracked on here sometimes!). The dress is still in stock in all sizes (but snatch it quick as it won’t last much longer!) Such a fun piece for the spring and summer, and one I’ll definitely get a good use out of!
I am so glad to be back on the blog, so you’ll be hearing from me shortly. Until then, good luck to those of you still in school and happy summer to my fellow college students who either just got out or will be on break shortly!
As always,
