Happy Monday!
Welcome back to the blog *cough cough* the new and improved blog! I made an impulsive switch last Tuesday to switch from Blogger to WordPress so I can improve my search-engine optimization (SEO) as well as own my site with a hosting service (your Blogger site is owned through Google, now I own my blog through Bluehost!). While not everything is completely perfect yet (I worked for HOURS on trying to fix one line of code so that any links floating around from my blog would properly transfer over and still haven’t figured out the issue), I am mostly done with the site. It’s not exactly where I want it to be yet, and I have to admit it takes way longer to load than my Blogger website (mainly because of image sizing I believe- if anyone wants to help me out with that lmk), but it’s useable and looks decent enough to be live. Anyways, you’re not here to learn about my website re-construction, so let’s head into the post!
I’m sure y’all know of my love for retro-inspired clothing. I absolutely love anything from the 1960s and would do anything to go to a 1920s flapper-girl party. With my love for unique and vintage-esque pieces, I thought I’d bring a mini series onto the blog every couple of weeks where I share some retro-inspired finds! I might even expand this into home decor and sharing actual vintage/thrift pieces for you to shop as well. You can click on any product in the graphic to find more info on it. The majority of these pieces are well under $100, and even under $50.
If you like retro-inspired fashion as much as I do, check out these retailers for some good pieces!
ModCloth
Simple Retro
Unique Vintage
Tuckernuck
Sister Jane/Dreaming Daises Line
I also pin quite a bit of things on my Pinterest page under my “mod” section, so definitely give me a follow on there if you need some retro inspiration in your life! I personally think investing in pieces that are reminiscent of styles from the 50s/60s/70s (even 80s) are timeless and elevate your style so much. I love learning the history behind style trends from the mid-century, and I wish I had the chance to live through those time periods to experience the evolution of both women’s fashion and women’s liberation in the US. Such a cool parallel that I love learning about! Stick around for more retro fashion inspo and maybe history as I develop my retro mixes even more!
xoxo,
Madison
