A few months ago, I was contacted by Sarah Flint to join their shoe ambassador program. I had seen many bloggers I love, including blog friends, share many a photo of their gorgeous Sarah Flint shoes. I was so excited to join the community of bloggers and content creators that Sarah has curated, all of us sharing a love of elegant yet comfortable shoes! Not to mention- Sarah Flint is designed and owned by a WOMAN, as well as featured on many admirable celebrities, including Meghan Markle, Mindy Kaling, Julianne Hough, Emma Roberts, Lady Gaga, Carrie Underwood, and more!
Even though I’m only 22, I have dealt with quite a few uncomfortable shoes, mostly heels. From prom, to internships, to nights out, some shoes sacrifice your comfort for the sake of being trendy or pretty. While the saying goes “beauty is pain”, I feel that sometimes the pain of a pretty pair of heels is absolutely not worth it. Many luxury shoe designers, which you would hope would be comfortable considering the lofty prices, don’t keep comfort and durability in mind when designing those gorgeous sky-high heels you see on the red carpet, at the office, or at a fancy event. That’s where Sarah Flint shoes come in.
About Sarah
Sarah noticed an important gap between luxury shoes and comfort. Why pay thousands of dollars for a pair of designer heels that feel like death when you’re wearing them? Sarah was frustrated that women were choosing between comfort and fashion, so she embarked on her journey to bring women high quality and comfortable shoes at only 25 years old.
Sarah researched extensively to design luxury shoes that are comfortable and beautiful. From 100mm heels to leather sandals to ballet flats to slingbacks, Sarah Flint has lots to offer for any lifestyle and fashion sense. She honed in on the elements that make shoes comfortable, and then worked with designers and craftsmen to curate the perfect balance of fashion and comfort. That’s why all of Sarah Flint’s shoes are designed from Italian materials and made in Italian shoe factories from quality craftsmen (the same as those other designer names in the luxury shoe market). Sarah’s eye for detail truly sold me on the shoes. You will notice that about the shoes as soon as you open them, and as you continue to wear them. She brings luxury and quality to an affordable consumer level, and I really appreciate that inclusivity!
About the Shoes
Sarah (the namesake of Sarah Flint) sources her materials and finds the best craftsmen for her shoes throughout Italy. Each pair of Sarah Flint shoes is hand-stitched, hand-cut, and formed with care.
While the prices for Sarah Flint shoes are higher than the average shoe on the market, it is comparably much lower to its luxury shoe counterparts. AND you get more comfort for your buck than you would with luxury shoes. Check out the features of the shoes below:
Anatomical arch support: added mold to support the natural arch of the foot
Foam cushioning: additional 6mm of memory foam at the footbed for extreme comfort (this was incredibly obvious and comfortable on my first wear of the Emma Slings!)
Wider toe box: eases foot crowding for all day comfort (you can tell the difference with a wider toe box!)
Rubber outsole: a no slip-grip for secure walkability
Steel rod stiletto: a durable feature that improves durability and longevity of the haul (no leaning out when wearing skinny stilettos)
V-shaped vamp: a beautifully designed vamp (the front toe area of the shoe) to show just the right amount of toe “cleavage”
SIZING
It is recommended to stick with your regular size in all Sarah Flint shoes except for the Rosie loafer (size a half size up), but I was also informed that the Emma Sling, and sometimes the Emma, can run small. I sized up from a 7.5 to an 8 (EU 38) equivalent, and I probably could have gotten an 8.5 too. Sarah Flint uses European sizing, but there is an easy-to-use EU to US size conversion chart on the website. There are numerous reviews for each Sarah Flint style on the website, so definitely read those if you are hesitant on the sizing.
Upon your first try-on of the shoes, they will comfortably snug. With wear, your shoes will stretch in width. I would recommend breaking your shoes in at home rather than out and about, as the shoes were a bit snug for comfort the first time walking around in them. I notice they are much more comfortable after wearing them around for a few days now.
My Pair: The Emma Sling
Signature features: a 50mm, 2 inch, patent leather block heel, 3mm of extra padding added to footbed, anatomical arch support, signature v-shaped vamp
Each Emma Sling is elegantly designed with a burnished Italian calf upper, stacked leather heel, leather lining and insole, and a leather outsole with full rubber forepart. As mentioned earlier I recommend sizing up about a half size. I am wearing the 38, which is equivalent to a US 8.
I chose the Emma Sling for several reasons. As I’m not in an office job yet, I didn’t feel it necessary for a full-on pair of heels. Further, while events are picking up, my event calendar isn’t as full as I’d love it to be, so a pretty pair of heels again wasn’t necessary. I wanted an everyday shoe that I could wear to a future job or fancy event, but that was also classic and casual enough for a lunch date, a day of shopping, dinner with friends, and more. I am a sucker for tortoiseshell, so that was another reason why the Emma Sling in the Tortoise Patent was made for me. Finally, slingback style heels are a timeless shoe that looks great on just about anyone. I know that these shoes are an investment, so I wanted a pair that would go nicely with just about every outfit but also stay in style for years to come (not to mention that slingbacks are totally 1960s vibe).

Have I sold you yet? If not, I want to leave you with a few parting words. I know these are pricey shoes. Personally, if I had not been offered them to review and feature on the blog, I wouldn’t have purchased these. The average shoe from Sarah Flint is around $200-$300, which is a bit out of budget for me with clothes. However, I do think it is important to invest in higher quality pieces that you know will last you a lifetime.
If you are wanting a solid pair of shoes that will hold up time and keep you comfortably, definitely check Sarah Flint out. Their team is incredibly knowledgeable on the product and shoes in general, and customer service is there to help you be happy with your purchase. Remember you can always use code SARAHFLINT-BAMADISOND for $50 off your purchase.
